Dress shopping

My husband's friend is getting married in March. This means I have about a month to find something to wear. I found some very cute plus size dresses online but, of course, they are pretty expensive. I'm not sure I can get my husband to drop $200 or more on a dress I'm probably only going to wear once. This one is really cute but, not only is it expensive, it will also take way too long to get to me. Man, I hate dress shopping.

It figures

As I said yesterday, I sent my daughter off to school even though she said her stomach still hurt a bit. When she came home, I asked her how she was feeling. Apparently, all she needed to get better was to go to school. She was running around at recess and ate chicken nuggets for lunch and even had Chinese food for dinner! I should have buckled earlier. Speaking of school, I have to look up when Grandparent's Day is. The school usually has some sort of visitor's day thing and I don't remember there being one so far. Maybe I completely missed it. Hmmm...

Normality? Hah!

Everyone is back to their routines today. (Yes, this includes me surfing around the internet trying to figure out what a zero gravity windscreen is and wondering if I need to buy one.) My daughter is still feeling a bit off but it's nothing that she can't work through. She's a real trooper. While it's nice to have her back in school, I'm still worrying about whether she feels all right. I feel guilty sending her off to school when she says her stomach hurts, but there is nothing else keeping her home. It's not even an awful stomachache, just a minor one. I hope everything is OK.

Working At Home

Yup, it's my turn to be home with the sick kidlet. Luckily, I do have the ability to work from home. Sadly, working at home is not the glamorous lifestyle people imagine. There is no lounging by the pool gate, drinking in the sun while tapping away on your laptop. No. Instead, it is trying to send emails while your connection to the company server is slower than molasses and feeling guilty for walking away from your computer for any length of time. (Yes, this includes things like 'making lunch' or 'going to the bathroom.') I'm happy that I have the option to work at home so I don't have to waste my vacation days when my daughter is sick. It's just not an ideal situation. Though eliminating the commute saves a ton of time.

Switch it up

It was my day to go into work today while my husband stayed home with the sick child. If my daughter is still not feeling well tomorrow, I will be working at home with my welding helmet on so I can keep the germs away. I don't need to get sick myself! Jokes aside, I really hope that she gets better soon. I don't think she'll fall too far behind in school but one can't be too careful. I'm going to try to get her to do a little bit of studying tonight to keep the information fresh.

Another Day Home

My daughter was, once again, sick today. However, I didn't get to spend the day being lazy. I had to take her to the doctor and I had to clean the house a bit. (Nope, no raleigh house cleaning service for me. I do it myself.) So I am pretty tired right now. But I still have my Zumba class tonight. Maybe I'll go to sleep early tonight. After all, I have to head back to work tomorrow. Hopefully my daughter will be well enough to go back to school.

Snowed In

Last night, my husband and I went to see Demetri Martin in concert. I got him the tickets for Christmas. It was an absolutely awesome show. If you ever get the chance to see him, go for it. You won't regret it. Despite the greatness of last night, the snow started falling after we got home. We got something like 5 inches of snow between midnight and noon. My husband and I were supposed to have a couples massage this morning but, due to the suckiness of Pennsylvania roads in the snow, we had to reschedule it. Instead, I spent the day napping, shoveling snow, and looking at personalized memorial gifts for my mom's dogs. (Her dogs died quite awhile ago. I just find the idea of buying memorial gifts for dogs funny. I have a weird sense of humor.)

I hope the roads will be better tomorrow. We have things to do! Stupid snow.

Finally!

I have finished Ranma 1/2! I will have the review for you first thing Monday morning. Today I am going to finish up some work, find a nice titanium wedding band to replace the crappy band I bought 10 years ago, then spend the evening with my husband at a Demetri Martin concert. Just a bit of a breather before jumping back into the review cage. I'll probably need it.

Almost finished!

Unfortunately, my daughter was sick yesterday so I didn't get a chance to catch up on any of my geeky things. She is doing better today and, as a result, I should be finished Ranma 1/2 by tomorrow. I promise that I will not get sidetracked looking at Medical Transcriptionist Jobs and wondering if that would be better than my current job. I will finish the special and have a review ready by Monday. I hope that Paradise Kiss will be better. It's not good when I don't want to finish a show. It makes me procrastinate.

Super Lame

I am super lame. I didn't finish the Ranma 1/2 jdorama over the weekend. Partly because I'm not really liking the special, which is depressing me. Instead, I spent the weekend celebrating my daughter's bowling trophies. She bowls in a Saturday morning league and received two trophies. Her team finished in first place and she had the high series. Of course, now I kinda want to bowl too. My husband used to be in a league but he hasn't bowled regularly in a long time. However, my mother, my stepfather, my sister, my sister's boyfriend, and his mother all bowl together on Thursday nights. I feel a little left out. Granted, I teach Zumba on Thursday nights so I can't bowl with them but I could join a different league. I want to say that I'd do my own thing, like blues guitar lessons, but then I'd still feel left out. Oh, decisions!
