Favorite Friday

Yes, it's Friday. Here is a very terrible song with "Friday" as the title. The song is so bad that it will inevitably show up as hold music or ambient music in some franchise soon. I just know it. I'll be standing there, waiting for my french fries when suddenly....."It's Fryday, Fryday." Hey wait....that might be cool. (And yes, her overprocessed voice makes Friday sound like Fryday. There's just a little too much emphasis on the 'i' sound.) Here you go. You tell me what you think:

Friday Video

I don't really want to call this a Favorite Friday. As most of you probably know by now, Japan has been hit by a major earthquake and a resulting tsunami. There has been tons of damage and hundreds of people (so far) have died. This hangs very heavy on my heart. I hope that all of your loved ones in Japan are doing OK. Hawaii, where my mother's side of the family is from, seems to have missed getting hit very badly. (Original reports said the tsunami wave was taller than most of the Hawaiian islands.) In about an hour, the wave should be hitting the west coast of the United States. I will keep you in my thoughts. So, in order to stay calm, I am giving you a video on how to draw a weeping willow tree in watercolor. They are such beautiful trees that, due to their soft wood, bend with the bad weather instead of snapping. Be like the willow.

early Favorite Friday

Since I won't be around all day tomorrow and I'm not sure what my schedule will be like on Friday as a result, I'm giving you an early Favorite Friday video. It's the Zumba guy, Beto Perez, on a morning talk show.

I have to admit that I am a little bit nervous about my training class. Mostly because I have problems with new social situations and I'm kinda afraid that I will be the fattest person there. (Aren't fitness instructors always way thin? Is it that they exercise a lot or do they take apidexin? Hrm...) Hopefully I'll get over that quickly once I get there. Wish me luck!

One of my co-workers badly burned a bag of popcorn at lunch. It was bad enough that the police and firemen showed up. Unfortunately, I was sitting in the kitchen at the time so I got the full blast of Burned Popcorn Reek. I was going to post a video of some great flowers in Chicago to try to forget the smell. (Hey, I can pretend that I can smell the flowers!) Then I got sidetracked by this awesomely cute bunny eating a dandelion. I think the cute just killed me.

In an attempt to forget all of the snow outside, I give you some steel drum music to help you think of tropical islands and sunny days. I think I should be one of those people that travel south for the winter. But Florida isn't far enough to get away from the cold of winter. I need Brazil or some place south of the equator. Oh, to be a rich person and have the ability to move whenever the weather sucks....

I know this video has been making the rounds so you've probably seen it already. However, what you don't know is that this happened at one of the malls near my house. This is a rather large fountain. I'm not sure how she didn't notice it. It's still pretty funny.

Supposedly, her husband was able to take the phone apart and set it in dry ice or something to get the water out. If only canon camera batteries dried out so well!
