It's possible. I've been looking into opening my own fitness/dance studio. Of course, the biggest obstacle right now is money. I'm confident that I can figure that part out though. Meanwhile, I'm pricing things like BestLaminate.net pergo laminate flooring or a floating floor. I'm not really sure which is best. I'm just looking at prices right now anyway. There is a building that I like a lot...I'm just not sure I can afford it. Darn you, money!
An update
I have almost finished watching the second season of Liar's Game. There is about three episodes left so I should have them finished for next week. After that, there is the final movie for the series. I'm kind of excited to see where this goes. It's been awhile since I've enjoyed a series so much. (It doesn't hurt that Matsuda Shota is pretty to look at.) But today? Today I will be researching laser barcode scanners to use in my Zumba classes. I think it might make it a lot easier to track classes. If it's not too expensive, at least. Research away!
Boots in unwinter?
My sister complained about this last year so I will ask all of you this year. Are womens boots a fashion faux pas in the summer? I found a really cute pair of ankle boots at the end of winter last year and my sister insisted that I could not wear them after winter. They weren't big furry Uggs or anything like that. They were cute little ankle boots. I think they would have looked just fine with a pair of shorts. What do you think?
New jobs can be scary
I'm kinda nervous. Recently, I applied for a job as a Zumba/dance teacher. It's totally something I could do so why am I nervous? Because I don't really have a lot of paper credentials to back up my experience. I have been dancing almost my entire life but I only have a handful of years of formal training. Most of my training has been in the theatre. As for Zumba, I got licensed in February to teach and I didn't start teaching until April. So that's only three months of teaching experience. However, I really want to leave my day job. One always hears about those soul-killing jobs. Yeah, that is what mine feels like. But I have to bring the money in to feed my daughter. So, yeah, I'm nervous. I just hope that the job I applied for isn't some scam housed in big metal buildings with big scary men. I want a good job that will pay me decently. Is that too much to ask for?
Danny Bonaduce, Life Coach
During my morning commute, I listen to a bit of the Danny Bonaduce Show on 94 WYSP. In my opinion, the best part of the show is called Life Coach. Listeners call in with their problems and Danny gives them advice on what to do. Usually the calls are along the lines of "My girlfriend is cheating on me but I can't pay the rent without her. What should I do?" Though I have to admit that I love the calls like "I took steroids years ago. What is testosterone supplement I should use?" And, amazingly, Danny gives them pretty good advice. I guess all those years of being messed up actually taught him something. If you can get the station (or stream it), Life Coach is usually on around 7:20AM. You should give it a try.
Favorite Friday
Today is another webinar day at work. I'm tired of them. However, I snagged today's Favorite Friday before the 'no streaming' rule went into effect. It is the trailer for the new Muppet movie. Everyone in my house is anxiously awaiting it's arrival. It looks awesome. (Though I doubt they will reference the awesome sketches from The Muppet Show...like Miss Piggy wearing discount medical uniforms in Veterinarian's Hospital with Rowlf and Janice.) Yay Muppets!
Steel can be hot.
Sometimes you just have to laugh. I found a website for a company that sells steel buildings. Usually these types of things are used for storage of large equipment. Cars, planes, boats, etc. Scrolling through the pictures of things the company believes their structures could be used for, I came across pictures of classrooms and workshops where there's an adult teaching quite a few kids. Why did it make me laugh? Mostly because I can't imagine that heating or air conditioning would work very well in a steel building. So it would be freezing cold in the winter and unbearably hot in the summer. These types of buildings are used for storage because equipment can usually handle temperatures that the human body cannot.
Then again, maybe there some trick to these buildings that I don't know about.
Procrastination takes over
I should be trying to find a new summer look for the website. Instead, I find myself drawn to m5 extreme reviews. Why am I so intrigued by things like this? Most people would just shrug and go about their business. Not me. I delve into the websites trying to find what makes them so interesting for other people. I need a new hobby....
Dresden Files
My husband has been listening to the audiobooks of the Dresden series of books. Whenever we travel together, he'll put on a book for me to "read." They are quite funny. One of the books we recently listened to had a war between the different factions of fairies. Fairies, in this world, are weak against steel. Dresden equipped some pixies with utility knives. Since the pixies were holding the plastic casing, they didn't get harmed by the metal. When they cut one of the fairies with the blade though..... The books are read by James Marsters, also known as Spike on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. He is really good. If you get a chance to listen to the books, do it. You won't regret it.
Christmas Cards in June?
Would you believe that we are already getting catalogs for holiday cards? Who buys their holiday cards this far in advance? Everyone I know would lose them by the time Christmas came around! I think that the card companies should send around the holiday catalogs around September. The beginning of the year should be focused on a different holiday...like Independence Day or something. That would make much more sense.
