Monday!

Well, OK....I'm not really that excited that it's Monday. Honest. After all, that means another work week to trudge through and it's supposed to rain all day. It's not the best day ever. However, my legs have stopped aching finally. Also, my daughter's birthday is this weekend so I'll be spending most of the week getting ready for that. And I'm to the good part of Zumba training - picking out the songs and getting choreography ready. (I'm trying not to think too far ahead again. We are allowed to sell Zumbawear to our customers so I keep debating the need to research merchandising jobs to see how people handle it. Not yet, Cass.)

So, in all, I hope this week will be fun and mostly relaxing.

Massage Day!

My husband and I have a couples massage today. Not a moment too soon, I think! My legs were feeling a bit better, then I decided to go to my Saturday morning Zumba class. Now they ache again. I hope this massage will make them feel all better. As an aside, I'd like to ask a question. A few of my friends are currently pregnant. Since it's been a few years since I went down that road, I'm sure things have changed. Anyone have any ideas on what the best prenatal vitamin is out there today? I was lame and didn't take mine because they made me sick. Not taking them didn't seem to have any bad consequences though...

Exhaustion

I successfully completed my Zumba instructor training yesterday. It was pretty difficult but I did it. My entire body is sore though. (I wonder...are there any supplements to combat muscle soreness? ^_^ ) I'm excited about getting everything ready to teach a class. It'll take me a few week to memorize the music and the movements though. That's OK. It'll probably take me that long to recover from the intense training! I don't mean to scare people off by saying it was difficult and I'm sore. It's only difficult because they needed to teach us all the basic moves and there are a bunch of them. A regular class wouldn't be that intense. Regular classes are fun!

early Favorite Friday

Since I won't be around all day tomorrow and I'm not sure what my schedule will be like on Friday as a result, I'm giving you an early Favorite Friday video. It's the Zumba guy, Beto Perez, on a morning talk show.

I have to admit that I am a little bit nervous about my training class. Mostly because I have problems with new social situations and I'm kinda afraid that I will be the fattest person there. (Aren't fitness instructors always way thin? Is it that they exercise a lot or do they take apidexin? Hrm...) Hopefully I'll get over that quickly once I get there. Wish me luck!

More snow?

We ended up getting about three inches of snow last night. As a result, my daughter's school is on a two-hour delay. Luckily, my work is opening late as well. That gave me time to sweep the powdery snow from the sidewalk. Isn't it spring yet? For now, I'll poke around the internet...read some epistane reviews and maybe watch some YouTube videos. I have nine episodes left of my current jdorama but it will take me a lot longer to get through that. My lunch breaks have been spent getting prepared for my Zumba training. Only a few more days!

A busy week ahead of me

I had a rather busy weekend. My mother and I got certified for CPR and First Aid. We were there from 8:30AM until about 3:00PM. It was a very long class but now we are both certified in CPR for Adults, Children, and Infants. We're also certified in First Aid. So if someone breaks a leg, I can get them fixed up enough for the ambulance to cart them off. We also attended a fitness expo so I could take a look at some other types of group fitness class. My Zumba instructor training is this Thursday and I'd like to add a few more things to my repertoire. I picked up a card for a free week-long membership to one of the local gyms. My plan is to try a few of their group fitness classes to see if they are as good as they looked during the demonstrations.

And I finally dyed my hair last night. Since my hair is so short now, the grey is totally noticeable. I've been putting off dying it for weeks. With my bad luck, I'll need hair loss treatments from dying it too much! That's why I leave so much time in between dye jobs. I hope this color will stay in for a long time.

JDorama review: Boss

Title: Boss Broadcast dates: 4/16/09 - 6/25/09 Number of episodes: 11 Genre: Detective Cast: Amami Yuki, Takenouchi Yutaka, Tamayama Tetsuji, Toda Erika, Mizobata Junpei, Kendo Kobayashi, Nukumizu Youichi Plot: Five years ago, Osawa Eriko (Amami) was sent to America as a demotion. Now she has returned to lead a new team of misfit detectives. What is good: It never turns into "Bad Guy Of The Week." What is bad: It ended! (But there's a second season coming!) Letter rating: A

I heard amazing things about this show. Knowing how hardcore fans can get rabid about "awesome" shows, I can reluctant to watch it myself. I'm sorry I waited so long!

The show mostly revolves around Osawa. It flips a little between her personal life and her extraordinary detective skills. I'm happy that they didn't delve too far into either arena. The show would have sucked if it was based on "You can't get a husband." On the other hand, I think it would have been too dry if it focused solely on the detective work. It was a great balance between the two.

I'm not going to go into each of her subordinates individually because that would take way too long. I enjoyed seeing the transformation of Kimoto Mami (Toda) from a stand-offish loner into an actual part of a team. Since there is a second season on the way, I hope to find out a little more about Iwai (Kendo) and Yamamura (Nukumizu). They were great secondary characters but they seemed to get tossed out to make room for everyone else. I'd like to see them make their own transformations.

This is most definitely a must see. Don't wait!
