Alas, I did not finish my jdorama yesterday. I got sidetracked by a few things and completely forgot about it. Instead, I will be watching it today. Sorry for the delay! One of the things that sidetracked me yesterday was brainstorming ideas for my Zumba class. I'd like to make the registration time more efficient. I wonder if using a bluetooth barcode scanner would help. People could buy a card with a barcode on it then we just scan it when they come. It would work a bit like a prepaid phone card. You put 10 classes on it and the software counts down how many classes you've used. I wonder how well that would work. It's definitely not something I'd do anytime soon due to the cost but it is something to keep in mind.
A boring day
I don't have a whole lot to talk about today. I will be finishing my latest jdorama tonight so expect a review either tomorrow or Thursday. Portal 2 came out today. My husband was playing it a bit this morning but I had to go to work. (I leave the house about 30 minutes before he does.) I wish I had more to talk about!
Zumba
As I said last week, I would let you guys know how my Zumba class is going. It is going very well so far. (Granted, there have only been 2 classes....) There were 17 people there the first night and 14 the second. That is very good. I have been very nervous, which resulted in me forgetting just about every routine I had on Thursday night. But everyone had fun and got a good workout so it wasn't a big deal. I'm going to be preparing some promotions that will be going out in the next week or so. Hopefully that will drive my numbers up even more. We're in the gym/basketball court, meaning there is tons of space for more people to join us. It is a lot of work but I am enjoying it.
And don't think that I've forgotten my other TGW duties. I am three episodes away from finishing my next jdorama. You'll have a new review by Monday, at the latest!
Zumba Tonight!
I begin teaching Zumba tonight. If you happen to live in the Reading, PA area, class starts at 6:30PM at the Birdsboro Community Memorial Center. The drop-in rate is $7.00 per class or there is a 10-class punch card for $50.00. I'm nervous but excited at the same time!
One More Week
I haven't talked about this in awhile so here's an update. One week from today, I will be teaching my very first Zumba class. If you happen to live in the Reading, PA area, come on by! Here is my official Zumba profile in case you need more information. I'm so excited!
The boring part of work
There are few things worse than a conference call. I keep getting stuck in these calls about some new computer software that the company is thinking about purchasing. As if conference calls weren't bad enough by themselves, these are extremely boring and usually most of the conversation doesn't relate to my job. We'll hit on one or two topics that pertain to me then the rest of the conversation is about something completely different. I will be so glad when the higher ups finally make a decision so I can get back to working.
A new jdorama review on Monday!
I will be watching the final episode of Manhattan Love Story today. (I'm glad I remembered my media player. Now I don't have to sit through commercials telling me to buy term life insurance for someone over 60.) A full review will be posted sometime Monday. If I'm not too busy, it'll be up first thing Monday morning. Now I have to figure out what to watch next. I'm not sure I have anything ready! Eep!
Collectibles generally aren't worth much
I don't understand why people would buy silver bullion bars or those "collector's" coins you see on TV. You know, the [booming voice]Obama Gold Coin[/booming voice] or whatnot. These things aren't going to go up in value. If they do, they still won't be worth very much because the companies tend to mass produce them. They are a lot like Beanie Babies. (I bought Beanie Babies but I bought them because they were cute, not because I thought I'd make a fortune off them.) I just imagine these people showing up on Hoarders with piles and piles of collectible plates. At least you can snuggle a Beanie Baby!
Dating Site Taglines
I frequently joke with my husband about visiting free online dating websites. With taglines like "It's OK to look," it's just asking for married couples to try to cheat. Though, when I say "Hey Honey! It's OK to look! I'm logging on!"...he replies by tickling me. Ah, I hate being tickled! At least we get some fun out of it. But those sites really should come up with a different tagline. "Using an online dating site doesn't make you a loser!" :)
Acid?
As I was starting off yet another annoying day at work, I came across a link for Acid cigars. I chuckled to myself. Why would a cigar company want to name themselves Acid? Doesn't it sound like something that will kill you? Well, OK, smoking will kill you anyway but acid would kill you quicker if you ingested it! I suppose it's supposed to be edgy and hip. It just comes off as weird. Then again, I'm not into cigar culture. Maybe it's extremely popular and people love them. I just would have picked a different name.
