New life paths

Before I started teaching Zumba, I had a ton of ideas for new career paths. For awhile, I thought about going back to college for psychology. I even looked at Psychiatric Technician Jobs to see what the job market for it was in my area. Unfortunately, I think I might be a little too old to go back to school for something like that. But that is why I am thankful for Zumba. I love teaching it and there are so many ways I can better myself without having to go to a 4-year school. I'm hoping to build my classes up enough that I'll be able to quit my current full time job and teach Zumba (and some other dance-fitness programs) instead. The lesson? Keep your eyes open. Sometimes what you need isn't what you are looking for.

Updates should not be difficult.

We've been having a problem with our computers at work lately. Well, that's not completely true. We've been having a problem with Trend Micro's updates, which has screwed up a bunch of the computers. There was another update last night. When I came in this morning, I couldn't even use our intranet-based sign-in site. When I opened Outlook, I could open emails but not attachment or links within the emails. It took about a half hour for Trend Micro to finally calm down. I dread the next update.

ZumbAtomic Complete!

Another busy weekend has passed. Luckily, I think this is the last of the really busy weekends. I spent my Saturday getting licensed to teach ZumbAtomic. That's Zumba for kids. So now I can do things like birthday parties and after-school programs. Since our group was so small, we finished training early. It still left me so exhausted that, when I got home, I fell right to sleep after my shower and I slept for about 3 hours. Thankfully, this training wasn't so hard on the body. When I took my original Basic training, I couldn't walk for a few days. This time around, I was only really tired that night.

Now I have to look around to find someplace I can teach kids. Wish me luck!

Zero to Crazy

This week has gone from zero to crazy in no time! While it started out nice and easy, things have been piling up all over the place. I have another Zumba instructor training class this weekend. This time it is for Zumbatomics, which is basically Zumba for kids. I also have to get the brakes replaced on my car, get my oil changed, and get my car inspected by the end of the month. (I'm hoping it won't be too expensive, but it usually is.) Not to mention that my 10-year wedding anniversary is zooming up. Why aren't there more hours in a day?!

A new jdorama has begun!

I started another jdorama yesterday. This time around it's Yankee-kun to Megane-chan. It is looking promising, so far. Unfortunately, I may not have time to finish the first episode today. (It always kills me when the first episode is longer than 1 hour.) I have to go to the store (with coupons in hand!) to buy my stuff for this week's lunches. Normally I do this on Mondays but I wasn't feeling well yesterday and I had a can of soup to eat. But, if I'm lucky and traffic doesn't kill me, I might actually get back in time to finish that long episode. Then we'll be right on track to kick this series out quickly!

I wish I was a girly girl

Whenever I was out this weekend, my eyes kept drifting toward those dead sea nail care kits. You know, the ones that have these buffer things that make your nails super shiny. Unfortunately, I don't really have the patience to sit and buff the crap out of my nails. And I'm not sure I need super shiny nails. What I do need a good spa day with a massage and a facial and maybe a nice manicure. That sounds so relaxing and awesome. Now if I only had the time...

New wedding rings?

My 10-year wedding anniversary is coming up in less than a month. While my husband and I would like to do something together, our funds and time are rather limited. I was thinking, instead, of getting us new wedding rings. Both of us are currently wearing plain white gold bands. (I believe the two of them cost $50 together.) Since his family is Irish, I took a look at some celtic jewelry for women to see if there would be any nice matching pieces. I really like the Mary Kate Infinity Celtic Wedding Ring. I definitely know I don't want a claddagh jewelery. It's a little too Irish for my tastes.

The rings I like are a bit on the expensive side. I'm not completely sure I could talk him into buying a set. I think he would rather spent some time together doing something. We normally get a couples massage for our anniversary. I'm just not sure that would suffice for a 10-year anniversary. It should be something a bit more special, right? Does anyone have any ideas? I don't think we can afford a hotel so a get-away-weekend is probably out of the question. Help!

A new review is coming!

Finally! I have a mere two episodes left to finish Shiawase ni Narou yo. If everything goes as planned, I will have them finished tomorrow. I'll have the new review up either tomorrow afternoon or Thursday morning. Yay! I'm not sure what is next in my queue. With a bit of luck, I'll be back on track with my jdorama reviews and they will be coming at a regular pace again.

Straight Talk

This post brought to you by Straight Talk. All opinions are 100% mine.

In my household, there are three of us. All three of us have a cell phone. Granted, my daughter doesn't really use hers to Call a friend or anything. It's mostly so she can contact us when she's away from home. Of course, this means that our phone bill is pretty high. So, in order to make myself feel a bit better today, I decided to take a look at Android on Straight Talk

The phones seem pretty nice. I'm not sure if it would be good enough for my husband's needs though. He has to have a data plan and all that funky stuff for work. I'll have to talk with him about it. Maybe I'll luck out and he'll be in Hook, line and sinker then we can actually save some money. Well, maybe not save. At least we'd have enough money for me to get my Zumba business fully up and running. Hey, I can dream, can't I?!

Though...I really like my current phone. It took me awhile to find one with a QWERTY keyboard that wasn't awful. I don't want to slog through all of the different phones again. I'm very picky about things like that. Well, I'll talk with the husband about it anyway.

Vacation!

Work is being a bit depressing today so I'm distracting myself by thinking of vacation. My husband said he wanted to stay home next year. I would rather go someplace to get away from it all. I was looking at Rent Calgary to get an idea of places in Canada to visit. I've never been outside of the United States. It might be nice to see how our Canadian neighbors live. I think there might be a few Canadian readers out there. What part of the country do you live in? I need some recommendations! I'm pretty terrible with Canadian geography though. (OK, I'm terrible with all geography.) So if you have some recommendations, try to make a reference about where in Canada it is. Like..."near Washington state" or something like that. Otherwise, I'll think you're talking about the eastern part of the country.

Ooh, if you have a recommendation for other places, I'll take those too. My daughter is 9 and my husband is a gamer. I'd like to go someplace where we aren't inside all day. I love the beach and warmth. They prefer colder temperatures. I know, we're difficult to please. Luckily, we're all pretty open to new and different things. Suggest away!
