I know I don't normally write about political issues but this has made me a bit angry. There is a local horse show property called Ludwig's Corner. Apparently the township would like to purchase the property to turn it into a park. (Though there is a bit of a debate about whether or not that is their true intention.) The owners and the township haven't been able to come to an agreement. In response, the township decided to condemn the property and pretty much take it away from the owners. I'm not the only one who thought it was ridiculous. A large group of people, about 300 in total, saddled up their horses, put on their english riding boots, and protested at the township building. As far as I know, there hasn't been any sort of decision since the protest. I hope that the township will reverse their decision and realize how stupid it was.
Dress shopping
My husband is taking me to a holiday party hosted by one of his clients. On one hand, I'd like to purchase a new dress for the occasion. On the other hand, it's difficult to find a nice dress in my size. (Sorry clothing manufacturers, I don't look like a porn star in a lace bodystocking.) Clothes shopping is aggravating and it makes me feel bad about myself. I think I need a personal shopper that will just pick the perfect outfits in the blink of an eye so I don't have to do anything. Then I won't feel bad about my looks!
Time to decorate!
Now that it is December, it is time to decorate! Time to get out the sturdy step stool and string up some lights. We don't have a ton of space inside the house so we don't have a full-sized Christmas tree. Instead, we have a little 2-foot thing we put on the table. But there are other decorations besides the tree, right?
Hitch size
Since I kinda live in the middle of nowhere, I see a lot of trailer hitches. The other day I saw an SUV with a hitch that stuck out way farther than it should. I thought there was some sort of regulation about hitch size but I guess not. I hope that no one runs into the back of the guy. They'd mess up their car big time.
Cleanin' up the place
Now that I am feeling a bit better, I'm pondering ways to clean up the house. (Nothing like a few days laying around to make you notice all the junk, right?) I was thinking of getting wire loom to thread our various cables through. Do you think it would help around the entertainment center where we have the television and the satellite box and all of the video game consoles? There are a LOT of wires just hanging around there. It looks junky and I'd like to tidy it up. Any ideas?
Almost to the end!
I stayed home from work today to try to kick this cold out of my body. Amazingly, I think I'm almost there. Granted, I spent most of the day going between sweating and freezing, you would think that I was going through xanax detox addiction abuse withdrawal or something. I am feeling a lot better now. This post is proof of that! It's the first time all day that I've really been able to sit for awhile without having to go lie down. Healthy body, here I come!
I don't have time to be sick!
It is official. I have a full-blown cold. I was hoping that the NyQuil I took last night would clear it out but it didn't. Even the DayQuil I took this morning isn't working. I have too many things to do! So now I'm drinking some orange juice and taking some medication, hoping that my head will get better by tonight. At least I know it's a cold and not something that requires food allergy testing austin. It would suck to have a food allergy that makes you feel this way all the time. I just need to be patient and wait for this to clear out.
Blargh
Yes, today has been going as predicted. Normally I don't like whining here but today deserves it. I definitely have a cold. As a matter of fact, I want one of those healthcare carts positioned next to my desk in my office so I can fill myself full of medication to stop all of the aches and drips and everything. I don't have time to be sick. The birthday lunch was pretty terrible. For some reason, the restaurant charges more for the food to be hot and didn't bother to tell the party coordinator that. So, of course, the food was only lukewarm. The chicken parm was pretty cold by the time I got it and the ziti was only mediocre. Luckily there is cake later this afternoon. With any luck, cake will make it better.
And I still have my Zumba class to teach tonight. It's supposed to be rainy and cold too. Sadly, this is one of the only times I hope no one shows up so I can cancel class. I just want to go home and go to bed.
Today will be awful
This is my prediction for today. Today will be awful. It started out with me waking up feeling awful. I really, truly hope that I am not getting sick. I don't have time to be sick. Add to that the gross weather. It's not raining yet but the roads are wet enough to make my windshield dirty and difficult to see through. Then I had problems with my debit card when I stopped for gas. When I got into work and looked at the menu for today's birthday lunch (we celebrate birthdays on a monthly basis so today would be for me and one of my co-workers), of the 5 things ordered, I don't eat 3 of them which I specifically noted when the coordinators were asking us what we'd like to have. *sigh*
I really wish I could toss on a set of comfy nursing scrubs and curl up in a corner. My work clothes are annoying and I hate wearing them. We don't have customers that come into the office so I'm not really sure why we need to have a business casual office. We need a casual-casual office.
Let's hope today gets better.
Welcome to the Holiday Season
I hope everyone made it through Black Friday without any injuries. Personally, I didn't leave my house until after the big rush was finished. By the time I went out, there was no one at the store. And no, I didn't do a single bit of Christmas shopping. Even today, Cyber Monday, was spent looking at Citizen watches for myself. I've been relying on my cell phone to keep track of the time for me and, well, that just isn't enough anymore. Don't worry, I'll have my Christmas shopping done in time. I just don't feel the need to rush out with the herd to get it done before the month of December has even fallen on us. I'll take my time and lovingly find the perfect gift for all of my friends and loved ones. That is what the holiday is about, right? Thinking about others. Not buying stuff for stuff's sake.
