Let's be honest here....

Sometimes I love when I am bored. I somehow managed to come across a website talking about penis enlargement and the "xanogen scam." Maybe it's because I'm not a guy but I don't really understand the obsession about penis size. Hey Guys! NO ONE CARES. The only time anyone 'cares' is when YOU bring it up. And even then, it's not really caring. It's just noticing. Oh yeah, and those porn stars you keep watching? Real women aren't like that. Porn stars get paid to ACT like that. That's all it is. Acting. Stop thinking that we'll be anything like that.

Just get over yourselves.

Twitter is funny

I don't really use Twitter all that much. Mostly because I just don't have anything to say. Today I posted a link to Al Franken's petition to keep bosses out of our healthcare. (I beg you to read his statement and sign the petition.) Well, of course that one Tweet was like political lawn signs and political bloggers or whatever flocked to follow me. I found that funny. One political Tweet out of 800-some posts and it makes me gain followers. That didn't happen when I was talking about cosmetics or corsets or anime. Only politics. Twitter really is funny.

Barcode cards

I haven't talked about my Zumba classes lately. They are still going strong. Actually, I'm adding a Hip Hop Hustle class to the lineup this week. I'm very excited about it. Now that I'll be teaching 4 classes a week, I've been thinking about adding an 'unlimited' monthly pass for my attendees. I'm just not sure how to work it. In my ideal world (which is not always the real world), I'd get some plastic cards that I could print barcodes on and scan them at the registration desk. Then I can keep track of how often the passes are being used. I'm pretty sure that is super expensive though. (See, this is why I need a sugar daddy!) If anyone out there has any experience with barcode readers and whatnot, please let me know. I'd really like to have something like that but I don't have a ton of money to spend on it.

Taxes suck

For my full time day job, I am a bookkeeper at a company that does continuing education for accountants. Of course, since it's tax season, this is our slowest time of the year. All of the raleigh nc cpa firms are spending hours upon hours muddling through all the tax laws. My taxes are fairly easy so I do them myself. I feel bad for anyone with harder taxes. There is just a ton of laws to know about. I'm always surprised that anyone can get through it. Oh yeah, don't forget - the tax due date is April 17 this year!

New glasses

I should probably get new prescription eyeglasses but I hate going to the eye doctor. It's been about 3 or 4 years since I last got new glasses. I tend to wear my contact lenses more often since I can teach my fitness classes in them. Luckily, I can order a couple of boxes of contacts and, since I take good care of them, they last quite awhile. Glasses aren't quite the same. Unfortunately, I bought cheapo glasses from a discount store online last time so the coating on the lenses is starting to peel off. I've never had that happen before. I guess I should get my butt in gear and get a good pair of glasses in case I really need them.

The Hunger Games

My daughter and I accompanied my husband to see The Hunger Games at Movie Tavern yesterday morning. I am totally not built for a 9AM movie on a Sunday morning. It absolutely killed the rest of the day. Anyway, the movie was decent. While I did not read the books, my husband did. (Well, he listened to the audiobooks.) We both enjoyed the movie, though I think there were some things that were glazed over a bit. For example, I'm sure that Gale (played by Miley Cyrus' boyfriend, Liam Hemsworth) had a reason for existing. However, all he did was give Katniss some bread, vaguely take care of Primrose, and mope a whole lot. He could have been cut from the entire movie with no consequence. Meanwhile, I don't think they mentioned Effie's name once.

Overall, it was a good action movie. Some of the fighting sequences were difficult to follow because they just seemed to be a blur of skin and clothes but that also showed the desperation the tributes felt. Since I hadn't read the books beforehand, I did expect a slightly different ending. Now I'm interested to see where the series goes.
