Subjects I Can Talk About For Hours

I don't usually talk a lot. But when certain subjects come up, I can't stop babbling. I try my best to be polite and not monopolize the conversation....but sometimes it is difficult.

1. My daughter - She does a LOT of things. A LOT. So I frequently have a lot to say about things she's accomplished or what she is currently doing or what she has planned. Sometimes it's a little too much.

2. Sailor Moon - I love Sailor Moon a little too much.

3. Bad writing in books - I review a lot of books. Most of the time, the book is already for sale to the general public by the time I read it. I honestly have lost count of the number of books that are grammatically incorrect, have numerous misspellings, and are just plain difficult to read due to the errors. If you are going to write a book, do it right. Get some good editors and have multiple people read through your manuscript. Don't just toss it up on Amazon because you said it's finished.

I think those three are the main culprits. Sometimes, if I find a new Thing that I think is super interesting, I'll do a ton of research on the subject and babble about it to my friends. I try really hard to not do that. I know it can be annoying.

Ain't Nobody Got Time For

Grammar, apparently. I get that this is a meme but, seriously, do we have to keep it going? Ah well. Here goes:

1. Thinking you are "too old" to do something. I am, like, a billion in internet years. Yet here I am starting new things and trying things out. I may be "old" but I'm not dead.

2. Being too serious. Have fun! Who cares if someone is looking at you? I bet they are wishing they had the guys to just do whatever.

3. Caring what strangers think. Your close friends and loved ones love you for who you are. Why care about what some stranger on the street thinks of you? Their opinion really doesn't matter all that much.

4. Hating on other people. This kinda goes along with number 3, except on the other side. Don't be the person that hates so-and-so because they are this or that. What does it matter to YOU if they are gay? What does it matter if they have pink hair? It literally has zero effect on your life. Focus your energy on something positive for a change.

Basically - be awesome to each other. It isn't that difficult. Really.

Books Everyone Should Read

Hm. A lot of the books I think people should read aren't necessarily books that I think they will enjoy. These are mostly books that will get them thinking.

1. To Kill A Mockingbird

2. Flowers for Algernon

3. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

4. Mists of Avalon

5. Paper Towns

There are probably a ton that I am forgetting but these are some of the big ones. I will probably get some strange looks for my list but that is OK. I'm used to strange looks.

Chores I Actually Enjoy

What? There are chores that people actually enjoy? I can't say I really like any of my chores. I do the household laundry, which I don't particularly enjoy, and I washes the dishes, which I enjoy even less.

While I don't classify these as "chores," I suppose I can say that I kinda enjoy driving my daughter around to all of her activities. It does put a little stress on the household schedule to make sure everything is done but, for the most part, it is semi-enjoyable.

What sort of chores do you enjoy? I can't believe anyone would enjoy chores.

Two in One

I didn't have a chance to post my 30 Days of List prompt yesterday so you are getting TWO today!

Things To Nurture This Month

1. My family - They can always use a little more of my time.

2. My writing - I never feel like I'm writing enough.

3. My YouTube channel - I'd really like to work on making this more popular.

Every Night Before I Go To Bed

I'm not really sure what this prompt wants to hear. The only things I do every night before I go to bed is brush my teeth and kiss my husband goodnight. Sometimes I watch a little television, sometimes I'm working on some last minute writing projects, sometimes I'm finishing a craft project. I do a lot!

The Darkest Tool

I recently finished reading The Darkest Tool by Gerald Barnes. While this isn't normally the type of book I would read, I was immediately captivated by the writing. The book tells the story of Jonathan Night, a young man who has been thrust into the middle of the battle between angels and demons, God and Lucifer. For everything that seems to go well in his life, there is always some darkness following closely behind. Sometimes it is difficult to tell if these occurrences are a result of his own choices or if someone is making him do things he wouldn't otherwise do.

Despite thoroughly enjoying the book, there are a few down sides. There are quite a few spelling errors. (For example, 'barley' instead of 'barely.') Also, there are a few confusingly slow parts in the last third of the book. However, neither of these are terrible enough to ruin the book as a whole. (And I think you all know what a stickler I am for spelling.) If you are willing to look past the book's flaws, I think you, too, will find a great story with interesting characters.

This is a sponsored post. All opinions contained in this post are honest reviews from my brain and do not reflect the views of anyone else.

Projects to finish this month

I almost always have a ton of half-finished projects waiting for me to finish them. Sometimes it is because I have lost interest but sometimes it is simply an issue of time. This list will consist of everything I have to finish, even though I may not have the time to finish all of them.

1. Chalkboards - My sister wants me to make some chalkboards for her wedding. I haven't been able to find the appropriate shapes that she wants (arrows) so I have to do a little more searching. If I can find the materials, I can definitely finish this in time.

2. Jewelry - I sell children's jewelry at craft shows. My fall shows start in October. While I have a decent amount of jewelry already made, I have a few more pieces I'd like to finish before my first show of the season.

3. Craft/Taping Room - I tape my YouTube videos in my crafting room. Like most of my house, there aren't any decorations on the walls. I'd like to get a couple pieces of artwork or something to hang on the wall behind me. The bareness in the videos kinda annoys me.

4. Writing - I always have writing projects on the back burner. I definitely need to work on some of those.

Please tell me I'm not the only one with tons of stuff waiting for me!

If I had an extra hour in the day

Oh boy! What a topic! For day 3, the writing prompt asks what I would do with an extra hour in the day. I kinda think everyone would like one of those.

I would love to say that I would do something productive. I could always use more time to write or work on my YouTube videos.  Or I could spend some more quality time with my family. Now that school is back in session, we don't get a lot of "Us" time.

However, I know the reality. I would spend that extra hour sleeping. I honestly never get enough sleep. A mom's job is never done, right? And if I wasn't sleeping, I'd probably be watching television. Sometimes the brain just needs to be shut off for awhile. We don't have to spend every hour of every day doing something productive and amazing. It's OK to spend a little bit of time maxin' and relaxin'. Just make sure it isn't TOO much time.

I can't pass up

For Day Two of 30 Days of Lists, the subject is I Can't Pass Up. I have quite a few things I can't pass up.

1. Pitch Perfect - this movie is so awesome, I absolutely have to watch it whenever it is on. Aca-Awkward!

2. Sushi - If it is a menu option, that is what I am picking.

3. Craft supplies - I should be banned from Michael's and Joanne's.

4. Animals in need - This is how we ended up with 3 dogs, a cat, 2 chinchillas, a bird, and too many fish to count.

5. Chocolate - You can never have too much chocolate, right?

And I am sure there are way, way more items I could add to this list. What are the things that you can't pass up?

Today is brought to you by...

I have decided to do the 30 Days of Lists for September. Let's see if we'll get some fresh ideas up in here!

Day #1:

Today is brought to you by...

1. Labor Day! It is Labor Day here in the United States, which signals the unofficial end of summer. Kids are heading back to school, pools are starting to close, and there is a bit more traffic on the roads. While I do get the day off from the day job, summer ending is a sad time for me. I really do hate winter.

2. Star Trek movie marathon! SyFy is airing a Star Trek movie marathon today. I believe it is supposed to be every Star Trek movie ever. My husband has already turned it on. Star Trek: The Motion Picture has been my morning.

3. YouTube! I will be recording a few videos for my YouTube channel. Right now, I have about 5 videos I need to get done, though they don't all have to be done today. If I can get three done, I'll be good for the rest of the week.

4. Laundry and Naps! Since the work week starts again tomorrow, I will need to do the family's laundry today. I hate doing laundry. Only naps make it better. Load of laundry - nap - load of laundry. Naps are always awesome.

How about you? What are your Labor Day plans? Picnics? One last pool jaunt? Shout it out!
